College Scholarships: Show Me Where to Find the Money: students and parents learn WHERE to find extra Money to help pay for college and WHAT a Student MUST do to position her/himself to standout in the Scholarship selection process! Outline of Topics Covered: 1. Why are scholarships sometimes taxable? 2. Who gives out scholarship money? 3. When should you start looking for scholarships? 4. What are the different types of scholarships? 5. What does it take to qualify for the BIG MONEY? 6. Where do you find scholarships for average students? 7. Favorite scholarship websites. 8. How do Selective Colleges hand out their money? 9. How to protect students from scholarship scams.
The Five Steps to Save, Plan and Pay for College: College bound students and their families will learn how to create a step-by-step strategy for navigating the college planning process. This presentation includes information on saving for college, selecting a school, determining cost, calculating financial need, and how to pay for a college education. This presentation also includes information on the value scholarships have in a student’s plan to pay for college, the types of scholarships available and resources for finding them, and best practices and tips to share with students on researching and applying for scholarships. At the end of this session, students and their parents will be more knowledgeable about the specific college planning tools and resources available today and have the confidence to put their specific college plan into action.

Taking the ACT: Understand the process for signing up and taking the ACT. Tips and tricks to make the experience easier.
Tips & Tricks to Navigating the College Research & Application Process: This session will focus on best practices in doing college research (including navigating the college fair), what parents and students should consider when looking at colleges, and important aspects of the college application.
Benefits of a 2-year College: Benefits of a two-year college degree, using a 2-year college first then transitioning it into a 4-year degree at a university, benefits of a trade/skill.
NCAA Recruiting 101: An overview of the NCAA eligibility process for any high school student who is considering competing in college athletics. This presentation will show the required steps necessary to be eligible to compete at the NCAA level.
