Loading/Unloading Entrance:
Access to the loading dock is on Pearl Street. The entrance is across the street from the Hyatt Hotel. There are three docks available behind the Exhibit level for loading and unloading. Please keep in mind that the loading dock is strictly for loading and unloading only, not parking.

An overview of both tests will be presented. Tips and advice on how to best prepare for the tests will be provided as well as how results are used for college admission decisions.

Financial Aid 101 –Katie Kocsis, Director of Financial Aid, Niagara University
Session 1 – 7:00 – 7:30 PM, Room 106B
You can never have enough information on financial aid. This workshop is designed to help answer questions that students and parents may have about the process of determining financial need and awarding aid.

College Athletics – Kelly Cruttenden, Associate Athletic Director, University at Buffalo
Session 1 – 7:00 – 7:30 PM, Room 103
Important information for prospective student athletes will be explored. Topics include recruitment rules, academic eligibility, letters of intent, and registration with the NCAA Eligibility Center.

Discover Gap Years – Presenter: Katherine Stievater, Founder, Gap Year Solutions
Session 1 – 7 - 7:30pm, Room 104
Ever wondered if taking a Gap Year is right for you? Katherine Stievater, a Gap Year Advisor, and founder of Gap Year Solutions ( will explain why Gap Years for recent high school grads are growing in popularity and how any student can benefit from a Gap Year. She will explain different Gap Year options and the Gap Year planning process, including how it relates to college planning.

How do you find the college that is right for you? This workshop will help students and parents examine the important factors to consider when making a decision on where to go to college.

The College Essay – Frank Williams, VP for Enrollment Management, Daemen College
Session 2 – 7:40 – 8:10 PM, Room 106A
This session gives you the opportunity to learn about what colleges are looking for when reading college essays. You will leave this session with confidence in writing you college essay. Some of the questions that will be addressed are: how do I decide on a topic? What are the skills needed to start writing our college essay? How do I know if this is the right essay to submit?

Applying for Scholarships – Cheryl Goldstone, School Counselor, Williamsville South HS
Session 2 – 7:40 – 8:10 PM, Room 106B
This presentation offers a brief overview on private scholarships and tips for completing scholarship applications. Learn how to conduct scholarship searches using the internet and receive advice on searching for scholarships, letters of recommendation, and writing essays for the scholarship application. The Excelsior Scholarship will also be discussed.
